Nigerian Prophet Turns His Teenage Daughter into Sex Slave

“He started having sex with me in January and he did so repeatedly. He threatened me that I would die if I told anyone and that he was the only one God had directed to have sex with me," these were the words of 17 years old Eunice Sonoye after her father, Prophet Elijah Sonoye, was arraigned in a magistrate court for the wickedness he perpetrated on her.
Things are really falling apart in our society. Things are getting so bad these days that, one can hardly trust anyone. For a man to inflict such pain on his own daughter, only God knows what he would or has even done to other peoples children. Please continue to read the complete story...

Zee-World – Tentebo Remix ft YQ, Skales, Reminisce & Enny + L.O.V.E ft Seriki

Zee-World is an artiste known on the streets for his local hit single “Tentebo” which came out sometime last year. He bounces back with an R&B remix featuring YQ, Skales, Reminisce and Enny (who was also on the original song). I’ve also added a 2nd song from him titled “L.O.V.E” (featuring Seriki), which is a sample of Wyclef’s hit song “Your Love”. Check ‘em out below.

LEAK: AKON & Wizkid – Don’t Dull Remix

The rumours are true! There is a “Don’t Dull Remix” with Akon and you can listen to his verse below. A few months ago, word got out that Wizkid and Akon were working on “something special”. We later heard that “Don’t Dull Remix” was already recorded but there was no set release date. A few hours ago, this snippet surfaced on the homie DJ Fresh’s (of JamJam & Fresh Show) blog and twitter has not been the same since then.
Obviously this isn’t the final version; it seems Wizkid will record his own fresh verse for the official remix. Omo… this is MASSIVE! …and AKON is a BOSS! Wizkid is on the verge of being a global superstar oh!

Wicked! Man Stabs His Own Mother to Death in Lagos

Too many negative incidents seem to be happening in Lagos these days. Analysts are already attributing the latest upsurge of heinous crimes and criminality in the city to the pressure a lot of Lagosians pass through daily in a bid to make a living. A study conducted in the state few weeks back even indicated that millions of people living in Lagos are mentally unstable.

But, could the action of this man who took the life of his own mother in Lagos be blamed on ‘pressure’ or is it a clear case of wickedness and total stupidity? What kind of a son would find it easy to kill his own mother in such a heartless manner? Continue to the read the story...
Segun Bakare, 28, has been arrested and charged to the Ijeshatedo Magistrate court in Lagos for killing his mother, Mrs. Kudirat Bakare. He was alleged to have used a rope to strangle her while she was asleep. The late Kudirat, according to eye witnesses, struggled to save her life but the wicked Segun ensured that she died by using a broken bottle to stab her.
The sad incident took place at No. 3 Musa Street, Mushin, Lagos. The circumstance that led Segun to murder Kudirat is one that could be said to be very trivial. Neighbours said he Segun had a quarrel with his mom and moved out of their family house. Only for him to return while the woman was asleep and tied her neck with a rope, strangled her, broke a bottle and stabbed her all over her body.
She bled profusely and died before neighbours could rush her to hospital. Immediately Segun discovered that she’s dead, he tried to escape but was overpowered and held by neighbours who in turn handed him to the police. The offence he committed, according to the police, was contrary to section 319 of the criminal code cap 38, vol. 2 laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2004.
When the matter came up at the court, the prosecutor, Inspector Ezekiel Ayorinde, told the court that the crime was a capital offence and would require the attention of the state’s DPP. Consequently, the presiding magistrate, Mrs. D. T. Olalokun, ordered that Segun be remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Lagos, pending the DPP’s advice... May God save our women (and mothers) from violent men!

LASU Students' Protest Divides Lagos Assembly

The two most senior principal officers of the Lagos State House of Assembly - Speaker and Deputy Speaker - doesn't seem to be on the same page on the issue of protest by students of the Lagos State University, LASU, over the astronomical increase in their school fees. Although House has directed relevant stakeholders to come and give them the facts of the matter.
While one believes that the action is in bad taste  and a demonstration of insensitivity by the ANC-led government to the plight of the people, the other thinks the masses should be willing 'make the sacrifice'. Continue to read their different positions...
The deputy speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Kolawole Taiwo, faulted the action of the state government for breaching sections one, two and three of the Lagos State Revolution Approval Law 2001, which stipulate that 'the executive cannot effect any directive unless it is approved by the state house of assembly'.
Condemning the action of the Babatunde Fashola administration Hon. Taiwo said: "The state shouldn’t have created a university when it cannot cater for it. We have an organised system, if we then say free education is optional in tertiary institutions, then LASU shouldn’t be created."

But on his part, the Speaker of the Assembly, Hon Adeyemi Ikuforiji, agreed that the state government has to fund education and subsidize when necessary but pointed out that the people must know that nothing comes free and be willing to make some sacrifices.
Sensing that his position might attract the wrath of his colleagues and Lagosians, he quickly added that the action was taken because the state wanted a standard and effective learning environment for the students. He further noted that it was meant to ensure "standard of education does not fall", while cautioning the executive to make the fees a little more affordable and convenient for parents.

Baba Suwe is Using Juju to Confuse Us, Says NDLEA

The cocaine saga involving comic actor, Baba Suwe and officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has taken a dangerous dimension. The general believe now is that the actor is using something out of the ordinary to confuse the entire situation. Can this be true? What are the findings that let to this insinuation or allegation?
I hear that Baba Suwe who was fidgeting when he was first arrested has suddenly regained his confidence. A very senior NDLEA official at the Airport said:
"There was no doubt about it. He was carrying drugs but we know he is powerful spiritually. The drugs may have disappeared through juju. The machine actually detected drugs in his system."
Controversy upon controversy. Though, the anti-drug scanning machine at the airport which screened Baba Suwe detected some drugs hidden in his stomach leading to his arrest and eventual detention by the NDLEA. The popular comedian has excreted about four times but no traces of hard drugs were found in his excreta on all occasions. This led to outcries from members of the public especially Baba Suwe’s colleagues in the Yoruba genre of Nollywood calling for the release of the comedian.
His lawyers have even slammed a N100 million suit on the anti-drug agency. However, the controversy deepens last Friday when a Lagos High Court gave the NDLEA authority to hold on to the comedian for 15 more days. This was sequel to the new discovery by a CT scan conducted on the actor which revealed that indeed there are drugs logged his body.
The raging controversy has been whether it is true that the actor has some drugs in his body. Many are of the belief that if indeed Baba Suwe has drugs in his body, he could have health problems since he was arrested. “If indeed he has hard drugs in his body, he should have died since,” Sade Oloriebi, an actress stated.
But the NDLEA would not have none of this. According to the anti-drug agency, Baba Suwe’s case is not isolated as there have been similar cases in the past. “In fact we have had cases where the accused raised curses on us after excreting three times but no drugs were discovered on them. However, after CT scans were carried out on them and drugs were discovered, they ate humble pie,” an official of NDLEA said.
Another controversy introduced into the matter now was the issue of juju popularly called Africa Magic. “There was no doubt about it. He was carrying drugs but we know he is powerful spiritually. The drugs may have disappeared through juju. The machine actually detected drugs in his system,” an official of NDLEA at the Airport disclosed.
Another NDLEA official corroborated his colleague’s claim. “Our machine detected it at the Airport, people said we are telling lies that we are just witch hunting him. Now that the CT scan conducted at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) has confirmed drugs in his body again, what will people say? The fact remains that this man is using high level juju on us,” he said.
For those who are bringing in the juju angle, they pointed to the actor’s different postures as the drama unfolds. When he was first arrested, it was discovered that Baba Suwe was a little bit jittery. But as event unfolds, he started regaining his confidence leading to the show of support by his colleagues. He was even reported to have boasted to close friend and colleague, Jide Kosoko that even if he was asked to excrete one thousand times, they would not find anything on him.

Subsidy Saga: Will FG’s Propaganda Make Any Difference?

Despite the machinery of propaganda being employed by the Federal Government (both on the pages of newspapers and on the internet) to sell its planned removal of fuel subsidy to Nigerians, a majority still see the move as very unpopular.
This is, indeed, a trying period for the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu. While some of his fellow ministers are busy globetrotting, Wogu is full of activities attending to labour-related crises from one union to the other. Since his first coming as a minister before the present dispensation, Wogu has always been saddled with the responsibility of attending to emergencies. While some of these crises could be described as needless agitation on the part of the workers, others could be described as self-inflicted on the part of the government.
One of such self-inflicted crises could be the...
Federal Government’s decision to remove the ever controversial fuel subsidy next year. Since the cat was let out of the bag via a letter sent to the National Assembly by President Goodluck Jonathan, in which he announced the government’s intention to remove the subsidy on petroleum products in January 2012, reactions to the proposed action have been ferocious. Since then, individuals and groups have been threatening to cause problem for the government. But the government is not allowing those opposing its proposed action to have a field day.
Using some pseudo names, the government has resorted to propaganda, placing adverts in newspapers in its desire to convince the people on why the subsidy must go. In one of the advertorials, the government tried to burst the claim that if deregulation is allowed to take place, the price of petrol will go up and the masses will suffer as they will pay heavily for transportation. It described such a claim as a myth. The reality, according to the government, is that such a claim should be discarded.
The advertisement said, “The reality is that a major inter-state passenger across the country runs on diesel. Diesel was deregulated six years ago. The masses are already paying the market price. Yams, tomatoes, potatoes, pepper and other essential foodstuff are transported by lorries across the country. Lorries and trailers run on diesel... Therefore, who exactly is this fuel subsidy for then? Who are these people making trillions of naira every year in the name of the Nigerian masses?”
In his response, an official of the National Union of Road Transport Workers at Jabi Park in Abuja, Mr. Jamiu Amodu, said there was no truth in the government’s assertion, adding that less than five per cent of cars in the motor park run on diesel. “If you go to our parks across the country, you will see that lorries, buses and cars that we use for commercial purposes run on petrol and not diesel. This is the reason anytime we experience fuel scarcity in the country, the price of transportation goes up astronomically. Even when there is diesel, how many cars, apart from industrial generators, use diesel in the country now? I think the government should look for another tale.”
Yes, the government has more than one story. In one of such tales, which it told in an elaborate manner via a wrap-around advertorial in one of the national newspapers, it tried to rationalise the need for the removal of the subsidy using a diagram. In the illustration, the government painted the picture of a fat businessman on a scale with such properties like expensive cars, a heavy portfolio, ostensibly full of naira and other luxuries, while the other scale had the masses, whose weight is nothing comparable to that of the fat businessman.
What could then be the meaning of the illustration? The businessman is feeding fat on subsidy to the detriment of the masses. The advertorial averred, “It is either fuel for all or subsidy for a few,” adding, “billions are in the hands of the subsidy-friendly because subsidy benefits the rich more than the poor.”
But if the subsidy is removed, the government says more jobs will be created, funds will be redirected to build infrastructure, schools, roads and hospitals. The government adds that the proposed subsidy removal will lead to the emergence of new businesses in other areas of the economy like construction and manufacturing.
Above that, the propaganda adds that the removal will allow the government to pay the minimum wage and that there will be increased oil revenue to the future generation, not just the present. Apparently asking the doubting Thomases to know that the country is not alone in this policy, the government, through the propaganda, reminded Nigerians that “Nigeria is not alone (in this matter), subsidies are Egypt’s greatest enemies.”
These arguments seem not to have been bought by the organised labour, opposition political parties and some notable Nigerians as they continue with their campaign against the subsidy removal. Already, some former members of the House of Representatives led by Mr. Dino Melaye have threatened to mobilise over 60 million youths to protest against the planned removal of fuel subsidy by the FG.
Melaye, a former leader of the Progressive Minded Legislators, who pioneered the investigation into the alleged misuse of N9bn of the capital vote of the House by the leadership between 2008 and 2009, threatened the FG that he would mobilise Nigerian youths to fight against the move, employing all legitimate and peaceful means.
Other members of the group, who are expected to lead the protest are Messrs Independence Ogunewe, Abba Adamu, Ehiogie West-Idahosa and Solomon Ahwinawhi. Melaye, who questioned what was done with the gradual removal of subsidy in the last 10 years, said the planned removal would compound the effects of infrastructural decay on the masses. “They have been removing the subsidy since the past 10 years, but has there been any meaningful transformation in the lives of the masses? We will fight it with all legitimate and peaceful means to stop this satanic agenda,” Melaye stated.

Marriage: D'banj Says Genevieve is 'Sitting on a Long Thing'

D'banj and Genevieve kissing on set Fall in Love Video.

At the moment, self-styled KokoMaster, D'banj (real names Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo), is said to be seriously looking for a 'real woman' that could fit into the shoes of his life partner. He has tried a lot on his own without much progress and may be seeking 'Divine Intervention' on this all important issue.

The gist however is that he's not in anyway thinking of considering Nollywood diva, Genevieve Nnaji, despite the buzz that was created by both of them few months back. As far as D'banj is concerned...
If genevieve is still sitting down and waiting for him to propose then she's really really 'sitting on a long thing'. Below is a report monitored on Mordern Ghana on the same issue:

D'banj, born June 9, 1980, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and harmonica player. He has won several music awards. In the past, D'banj had been linked romantically with a couple of ladies including screen Goddess, Genevieve Nnaji.
In a recent interview, D'banj opens up on his relationship with Genevieve Nnaji and also talked about his ideal woman and why he has not been able to find a wife yet. In his words: "I think Genevieve is a stunner I could date or love her. But we didn't date. She's my friend and a star you know. We're close and we both understand that things couldn't work out."
Asked on plans of getting married, he said: "To find a lady that really likes one genuinely makes me paranoid. Of late, I dated a lady called Dana and she doesn't even know that I'm a musician. I told her I'm a businessman. She's based in America and I like it. Is it wrong? Even if I date a foreigner, I still have to come back home. It's really hard to find because how will I know she likes me genuinely?"
Haba D'banj you no try for Genevieve at all. Why the denial? What about the lovey dovey you two were playing at P-Square's birthday bash months back? You even graced her birthday party held in far away London early this year. Now you dey denie your once upon a time lover? Na wa o!
According to Mordern Ghana, other ladies that once fell prey to his antics are Empress Njamah, Ini Edo, Rukky Sanda, Mercy Johnson and Amina Abubakar, daughter of Nigeria's former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.
So, the question is: Who will be the 'lucky girl' that will truly love D'banj "genuinely" and how would he even know that her love for him is indeed "genuine"? Or could it be that the guy is not even ready for marriage after all?

VIDEO: Nneka – Soul Is Heavy (Making of the Album) + New Singles

Nigerian music ambassador to the world, Nneka, has just released her 3rd studio album titled “Soul Is Heavy“. The album hit Europe and the rest of the world on Monday, September 26th and then made its way to the United States on Tuesday the 27th of September. I’ve been opportuned to lay hands on her album and I can tell you it’s worth any amount it’s sold wherever you are.
On “Soul Is Heavy“, Nneka uses Hip Hop/Soul music to thrash issues involving the Nigerian society and its ills. Her undiluted Warri accent is totally infectious; she never tries to switch it up at any point, and she’s not afraid to speak the truth. She’s probably the most conscious Nigerian music superstar since Fela. She has also been rated by MTV as the 4TH BEST FEMALE EMCEE across the globe (see article).
On the 3 videos below, Nneka takes us with her on tour of a few international cities. She also speaks on the “Soul Is Heavy” album and sheds light on what we should expect from it. I’ve also attached 2 singles from the album for your listening pleasure. Feel free to hop on iTunes, Amazon or your local outlets to cop “Soul Is Heavy”. If you can’t find it, check back in a few days.
notjustOk Album Ratings (Soul Is Heavy): 9.5/10
