Nigerian music ambassador to the world, Nneka, has just released her 3rd studio album titled “Soul Is Heavy“. The album hit Europe and the rest of the world on Monday, September 26th and then made its way to the United States on Tuesday the 27th of September. I’ve been opportuned to lay hands on her album and I can tell you it’s worth any amount it’s sold wherever you are.
On “Soul Is Heavy“, Nneka uses Hip Hop/Soul music to thrash issues involving the Nigerian society and its ills. Her undiluted Warri accent is totally infectious; she never tries to switch it up at any point, and she’s not afraid to speak the truth. She’s probably the most conscious Nigerian music superstar since Fela. She has also been rated by MTV as the 4TH BEST FEMALE EMCEE across the globe (see article).
