On seeing the physical 'damages' that was done to his daughter, Mallam Muhammed Maradun immediately petitioned the Police authority in the state and requested that the matter must be investigated with a view to ensure his little girl gets justice.
Contrary to what the public was used to, the leadership of the Zamfara State police command swung into action and arrested the rapist. The matter was investigated and the Inspector was found wanting. As a result of findings, according to the state’s police public relations officer, ASP Sanusi Amiru, Inspector Abdullahi Ibrahim has been dismissed from the Force.
ASP Sanusi condemned the action of the dismissed officer, while assuring members of the public that the police is going through a cleansing process and would, henceforth, not take it lightly with any policeman who abused the public trust. He said the suspect would be charged to court shortly for the offence.
How I wish Nigerian Police have been doing their job this well before. Things for don dey better.
