Who else can take us on a journey into the dirty dealings of most of the flashy ladies in the Nigeria entertainment industry but the one who has 'seen' them all? Some quick reminder: this guy has three kids from three different ladies to prove his in-depth knowledge about ladies and their wants. But seriously, it seems Tuface Idibia has been craving for an opportunity to talk about ladies for some time now.
So, as soon as the opportunity presented itself recently, 2Baba grabbed it fast, used it judiciously and made his point clear. The question that got him talking was a simple one. 'What can you say about Nigerian hip-hop artistes’? And the guy started...
“When it comes to Nigerian music of today, I am just going to call two names because I don’t want to involve myself in controversy. If I start reeling names, I would offend a lot of people who would expect me to name them as among my favourites but I am just going to call two names – Asa and MI.
MI is amazing; he is deep, intellectually talented. He is got it all. I first met MI at one show and I said Wow! Who is this guy? And that was it. He is going to go really far. It is not for me to discuss the originality of his rap. These days, when you start talking about originality, you can’t really lay claim to any original thing.
Everything has already been done but what I can say is that he is talented. He knows his onions. He’s intelligent, same with Asa. She is not forcing it. She does it effortlessly and then she has depth”. Then the bombshell: “She doesn’t just want to sell sex. Most of the female artistes these days, they just want to sell sex...”
Oh really! But who are they selling this “thing” to and who is the leader of those buying from them recklessly? I just hope this guy is not trying to turn himself into some morality crusader. In case he’s forgotten, he should be reminded that he lacks the locus standi to do that... Tuface should just stick to his ‘ministry’ and kindly leave other people’s ‘ministry’ for them. Enough said!
